Surface Finishing Academy

Frequently Asked Questions

What sets the International Surface Finishing Academy apart from other Surface Finishing schools?

The ISFA is different from other Surface Finishing Schools in many ways. For one, our dedication to quality – in course material, professional staff and knowledgeable instructors – is unsurpassed by our competitors. We offer the most up to the minute educational experience, without forfeiting the value of a strong foundation in the traditional, core surface finishing principles. We also continue to support our students throughout their careers, and hope that they use what they've learned to give back to the finishing community. The best way to sum it up, however, would be VALUE. We will provide you with the best education for your money.

What if I want to host a workshop or course just for my employees?

The ISFA offers a comprehensive series of on-site courses, tailored specifically to the needs of your company. We will work closely with you to customize the course material in a way that ensures your employees receive the most pertinent and applicable information.

How are exams graded, and how long after I take a certification course will I receive my certificate?

Certificates are mailed after each course to completing students. You should receive your certificate of completion within 1-2 weeks after the course.

Do you offer payment plans or financing for any of your courses and workshops?

We offer discounts and scholarships to qualifying students. Please contact our office for more details.

Can I request a workshop be taught in my region?

Generally, the ISFA can host a course or workshop anywhere in the world based on a minimum of twelve students.

What languages are the ISFA's classes available in?

Currently, the International Surface Finishing Academy only offers courses in English. However, we are in the process of translating much of our offerings into Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, and hope to include other languages in the future.
